From Jen Larson, SCWSL President:
3 teammates and myself from New Haven women’s team are going to run in the Chicago Marathon this October in the name of SeriousFun Children’s Network founded by Paul Newman.
We are hosting a fundraiser event on June 16th from 6pm – 9pm at O’Toole’s Irish Pub in New Haven, CT. Admission is $10 and it includes free food, a door prize and drink specials. We will also be raffling off prizes (including Yankee/Red Sox tickets) and have some live music to get the party started.
We are trying to reach our combined fundraiser goal of $6000 ($1500 each). If you can’t make the event and are feeling generous, please feel free to send checks made payable to SeriousFun Children’s Network to:
Katy Derrico
54 Nortontown Road,
Madison CT 06443
Or give them to us when we see you on the field! Your donation is not only appreciated by future campers with life threatening illnesses, but it’s also tax deductible!!! All proceeds go to directly to Serious Fun Children’s Network. The fundraiser deadline is July 28th. Please remember, no donation is too small.
SeriousFun Children’s Network is the continuation of Paul Newman’s legacy that allows children with serious illnesses to simply be children and have fun!! They are a growing global community of 28 innovative camps and programs that create opportunities for children and their families to reach beyond serious illness and discover joy, confidence and a new world of possibilities—always free of charge.
